History of The North Arcade

1990 Donna Rae Davidson goes to work at Pike Place Market and is immediately inspired to write a play.

1995 An early reading of The North Arcade

1998 Donna Rae meets Rob Jones and they immediately begin writing songs for The North Arcade

1999 - 2003 Donna Rae and Rob, a.k.a. Red & Me:

  • write "Claudia Kelly's 500 Hats" (inspired by Market Craftsperson Claudia Kelly) and Cindy Elle
  • produce "Hats" and "Women With Balls" at the Bathhouse
  • win the 2002 Seattle Fringe Festival with "Hats"
  • and write a whole lot more songs

2004 - 2005 Work on The North Arcade resumes, culminating in two readings in the summer of 2005 on the Joe Desimone Bridge


2006 Red & Me:
